Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to what clients ask us most, before and during a project — pricing, websites, SEO, timelines, ownership and what it's like working with us.
Pricing & Packages

With us, five pages starts at $499, an eight-to-ten page business site is around $1,499, and a twelve-to-twenty page site built to compete on rankings is around $2,999. More broadly across Melbourne, small business websites commonly run $3,000–$8,000 through specialist agencies billing $200–$300 an hour. Our published prices reflect ten years of refined process, not a stripped-back product.

A repeatable build process, a component library we've refined since 2016, and a studio in Broadmeadows rather than the CBD, where rent and overheads are lower. We're also upfront that plenty of clients continue with SEO or a care plan afterwards, which lets us keep the initial build honestly priced rather than padded.

No. Your quote is fixed in writing before work starts and covers everything listed in it. The only additions are things you actively choose afterwards — extra pages, ongoing hosting and care plans, SEO, or copywriting if you'd rather we wrote your content. We'll never invoice for mobile responsiveness, a CMS, or anything we've described as standard.

Yes. Most projects are billed in milestones — typically 50% to begin and 50% on completion — with larger builds split across additional stages tied to project progress. The exact schedule is set out in your written quote before anything starts.

Design, mobile-first build, SSL, an enquiry form, basic on-page SEO, schema markup, Google indexing, analytics setup, a content editor with training, and full ownership are included at every tier. What scales with price is page count, how much copywriting we do for you, and how deep the SEO structure goes.

Websites

A five-page site is typically live within ten business days of us having your content and images. Eight-to-ten pages takes about three weeks, and larger twelve-to-twenty page builds run four to five weeks. Ecommerce timelines depend on product count. The main thing that pushes a timeline out is waiting on content from the client, so we send a checklist up front.

Yes, completely. The domain, hosting account, files and design are registered in your name from day one, not ours. If you ever want to leave, we'll help you transfer everything cleanly rather than making it difficult.

Hosting is kept separate deliberately, so you own the account outright rather than being tied to us. We offer Australian-hosted care plans from $49 a month covering hosting, SSL, backups, updates and support, or we can deploy to hosting you already have.

Yes. Every build comes with an editor that doesn't require touching code, plus a training session and written notes. Updating prices, swapping photos, adding a service or publishing a blog post are all things you'll be shown how to do.

Yes, on Shopify or WooCommerce, starting around $2,499. We set up Australian payment gateways, shipping rules and GST-correct tax settings, and handle migrations if you're moving off another ecommerce platform.

Often, yes. We'll audit your existing site and tell you honestly whether targeted work — speed, SEO structure, a redesign of a few pages — makes more sense than a full rebuild, even when the rebuild would be the bigger invoice for us.

SEO

Most clients start seeing measurable movement — more impressions, improving positions for target keywords — within eight to twelve weeks, with compounding gains over six to twelve months. Competitive Melbourne categories with entrenched competitors typically take longer than a niche or suburb-specific service. We report on real metrics from month one, not vague promises.

No, and any agency that promises this is not being straight with you. Google's algorithm isn't something any agency controls, and guaranteed rankings are a red flag in this industry. What we do guarantee is the work itself — technical fixes, content, links and reporting — being done properly and transparently, and we'll show you the data along the way.

Technical audit and fixes, on-page optimisation across your key pages, local SEO and Google Business Profile management, content built around keywords people actually search, and monthly reporting on rankings, traffic and enquiries. Scope is agreed up front based on your industry and how competitive it is.

Yes. A large share of our SEO clients come to us with an existing website built by someone else. We audit what's there, fix what's holding it back technically, and build a content and link plan around it without needing to rebuild the site itself.

Yes — one of our most documented results, a 325% growth case study, is for a Canberra-based client. We work with businesses across Australia; being Melbourne-based doesn't limit where we do SEO.

Timelines

A five-page Starter site can go live within ten business days once we have your content and images ready to go — that's the constraint, not our build speed. If you need something faster for an urgent deadline, tell us up front and we'll say honestly whether it's achievable without cutting corners.

Book a free call and we'll typically send a fixed-price quote within two business days, after we've looked at your current site (if you have one), your competitors, and what you actually need.

Waiting on content — copy, photos, logos, product lists — from the client, by a wide margin. Revision feedback arriving piecemeal over weeks instead of as one batch is the second most common delay. We send a content checklist at kickoff specifically to head this off.

Often, yes, provided we know early and you can supply content on a matching schedule. Tell us the date during the quote stage rather than partway through — we can usually prioritise a project for a genuine deadline, but not retrofit one onto a build already scoped for a slower pace.

Ownership & Hosting

You do. Wherever the registrar allows it, we register the domain directly in your name and business details from the start, not ours. You'll have the login and full control regardless of whether you continue hosting with us.

We'll contact you before taking any action if a plan lapses. Because you own the hosting account and domain outright, you're never locked out — but backups, updates and support covered by the plan stop once it ends. We'll help you move to alternative hosting or another provider if that's the outcome you want.

Yes, at any time. Because you own the domain, hosting account and files from day one, there's nothing locking you to us. If you decide to leave, we'll package everything up and hand it over cleanly rather than making the exit difficult.

No. We build on WordPress, Shopify, or standard code (React, Laravel) — all mainstream platforms any competent developer can pick up. We deliberately avoid proprietary drag-and-drop platforms that only the original agency can edit.

Working With Us

Yes. While our studio is in Broadmeadows and most clients are Melbourne-based, we deliver websites, apps, SEO and software for businesses across Australia — calls and project management work the same regardless of location, and our Canberra SEO case study is a good example.

Yes. You're not routed through account managers relaying messages to an offshore team — the people who scope your project are the ones building it, and you can bring questions straight to them during the build.

Yes, we're a real office at 12 Dimboola Rd, Broadmeadows VIC 3046, and clients are welcome to visit or meet there. It's one of the ways we differ from remote-only competitors.

Tell us specifically what isn't working — we build in revision rounds for exactly this reason, and at Growth tier we keep revising until you approve it. If something was miscommunicated in scope, we'd rather fix it than argue over the contract.

Yes, if your business requires one before sharing sensitive information, we're happy to sign a mutual NDA ahead of a project starting.
